Video Bundles FAQ

1. How does the Video Pack work?

Answer: Subscribers on this bundle will have the freedom to stream as many videos as they desire from any of Surfline’s defined streaming services provided the 25GB allocated to them has not been exhausted. From time to time, Surfline will update on its website the list of video streaming services available to subscribers to the Video Bundle.

2. What video streaming services am I allowed to view on this pack?

Answer: Services readily available now are Netflix, DStv Now*(DStv BoxOffice*, DStv Catch Up and SuperSports*)

3. Will you add more video streaming services?

Answer: From time to time, we will update on our website the list of video streaming services available to subscribers to the Video Bundle.

4. How much data volume is allocated for this pack?

Answer: You will be allocated 25GB valid for 30 days.

5. How much does this bundle cost?

Answer: GHc99

6. Can I have the Video Pack simultaneously active with my normal bundle?

Answer: Yes you can have the video Pack in addition to an existing regular/main bundle including the unlimited bundles. In this case, all streaming from the video services will only be charged from the Video Pack while traffic from any other site will be billed from the regular/main bundle.

7. How about having the Video Pack as my only active bundle?

Answer: Yes you can have the video Pack as you only active bundle. In this case, you will be free to stream unlimited videos from the listed service, however will be unable to browse or do any other thing from the internet.

8. What then happens when my Video Pack gets exhausted?

Answer: If the Video Pack is your only active bundle, then on hitting the 25GB cap, you will no longer have access to the streaming services and all other sites; you will be not be able to access the internet at all. However, if you have a regular bundle in addition to the Video Pack, then on hitting the 25GB cap, streams from the video services now will be charged against the regular bundle.

9. Will the Video Pack expire?

Answer: Yes. You are allocated 25GB valid for 30days on your Video Pack but like all of our other bundles you will be able to roll over any unused data in your video pack. Just purchase another video pack to roll over any unused data. This means purchasing a regular SURFplus bundle (including unlimited bundles) will not rollover a Video Pack.

10. Will I be able to check how much data I have used on my Video Pack?

Answer: Yes, Dial *718*77# and select check balance to view the data balance on your Video Bundle. You can also log in to MySurfline account to see this.

11. Will I have to exhaust the 25GB or wait for the bundle to expire before I can purchase another Video Pack?

Answer:  No. You can buy multiple Video Packs any time within the same month. This will accumulate the bundle allocation and validity will remain as 30 days from latest purchase.

12. Is this pack available for all customers to purchase?

Answer: This bundle is only available for customers on the Surplus offer. Customers on the “SURF bundles” (old offer) will have to migrate to the SURFplus bundles to enjoy the benefits, and once migrated to the SURFplus bundles, all rights and benefits under the SURF bundle is extinguished.

13. Do I need any subscription with your video streaming services to use the Video Pack?

Answer: For paid service you will need a subscription from the streaming service but not for the free ones. The current listed video streaming services however require a subscription.

14. Does the bundle also pay for my subscription for the listed video streaming services?

Answer: No. The Video Pack does not cover your subscription fee for the listed video streaming services. You must have an active subscription which will be independent of the Video pack.

15. I am completely new to this, how do I subscribe to these video services?

Answer:  For Netflix

  • Go to www.netflix.com
  • Click on sign up or Join now
  • Choose a plan right for you and click “Continue”
  • Create your account by entering your email address and a password
  • Enter your payment details to complete the account creation

 

Answer:  For DStv

  • To access SuperSports, DStv BoxOffice, DStv Catch Up and DStv Now services you must be a DStv Premium Subscriber with a DStv Connect Account and a DStv Wifi Connector

16. What is a DStv wifi connector?

Answer: The DStv WiFi Connector is a device that links your DStv Explora to the router in your home. It does so easily and wirelessly. You can get a DStv Wi-Fi Connector from any of the DStv service centers, MultiChoice offices for GHC80.

17. How do I connect my DStv Explora to the internet using the DStv Wi-Fi Connector?
